Now that summer has fully embraced us, I hope that everyone has found some time to relax and enjoy it to the fullest. John Steinbeck once wrote, “What good is the warmth of the summer without the cold of winter to give it sweetness.” This is what makes summertime in New England especially wonderful.
First, I'd like to provide an update on our search for a new dean. The Provost and the Dean Search Committee are still hard at work finding the next Dunton Family Dean. I want to reassure everyone that I am committed to my interim Dean role and will remain in the role for as long as needed in the new academic year. Thanks to our dedicated faculty, staff, students, alumni, and corporate partners, we just wrapped up a very successful academic and fiscal year, and I have no doubt the new one will be great as well. Our fantastic community has enabled me to do my job, and it continues to be a pleasure working with you.
I'm also excited to share with you a few programmatic updates of note. I've mentioned before that we're working hard to launch a new version of our Online MBA that enables the flexibility an online program provides while also leveraging the power of experiential learning in a way no other online MBA can. Marketing efforts are underway, with a soft launch this fall.
And as we gear up for Fall 2022, I'm pleased to see that our admitted freshmen class is still very committed to attending Northeastern, as we're seeing higher-than-average intended matriculation this summer. Undergraduate Programs will also have new leadership this fall, as Senior Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs Jeffery Born has asked to step down to resume his role as a professor in the Finance Group. Starting in August, Todd Alessandri will assume the role of Associate Dean. Todd is looking forward to immersing himself in the undergraduate landscape and building upon the program's momentum that Jeff has worked so hard to build over the last four-and-a-half years successfully.
Finally, I look forward to celebrating D'Amore-McKim's centennial year with our community! We just launched our D'Amore-McKim 100 website that showcases our innovative past, our exciting future, and engaging stories and events will be added regularly over the next year. We're planning ways to celebrate with you starting in September, so check the website and our social channels regularly for detailed information.
Please continue to enjoy your summer, and thank you, once again, for your commitment to D'Amore-McKim.
