The Latin American Business Club at Northeastern University (LBC) had the privilege of hosting Ecuador's former President, Jamil Mahuad, for a fireside chat on Thursday, March 28. As a Spring 2023 recipient of the Srinivasan Family Awards for Projects in Emerging Markets, Northeastern University's chapter of Innovators for Global Health, is working to develop affordable and sustainable medical supplies for healthcare facilities in Ghana.

Last night, the Center for Emerging Markets (CEM) at Northeastern University celebrated the culmination of two years of its Srinivasan Family Awards student grant program with a reception attended by over a dozen past student and alumni awardees, as well as faculty and staff partners.

“It's a culmination of the work I've been doing throughout college—advocacy and a lot of journalism that started in high school,” says the Business Administration and Communications Studies combined major.

“This is the first space in D'Amore-McKim that highlights Black graduates and professionals and provides a forum for Black students to grow, exchange ideas, network, and build camaraderie,” says Amari Hanberry, MBA'25.

Shirley Wang, a second-year student, runs a marketing agency fully staffed with other Gen Zers and serving underrepresented entrepreneurs.
