Learn by Doing
Northeastern’s hallmark approach to experience-powered learning is core to your degree. As an MS x student, expect experience to shape your learning and supercharge your path to the next stage in your career. Learning by doing will be infused throughout your entire experience at D’Amore-McKim.
The following opportunities are some of our most popular…
- Experience-powered learning defines D’Amore-McKim’s coursework. For example, select coursework includes Experiential Network (XN) Projects—collaborations with Northeastern industry partners in which students complete deliverables to inform critical business decisions.
- Have opportunities to participate in other signature Northeastern experiences, such as joining the management team of a real mutual fund in the university’s endowment, the student-led 360 Huntington Fund; applying for an elective course abroad to immerse yourself in the business practices and economy of another country, launching a business or consulting on a startup with IDEA, Northeastern’s student-led venture accelerator, or learning firsthand about public policy in our Washington campus residency.
Starting your own business venture? Work with mentors and access financial, marketing, and communications support—or put your expertise into practice and mentor a startup yourself.
Apply to be part of the team that recommends stocks and manages investments for the 360 Huntington Fund. Launched in 2008, this nearly $1 million student-managed mutual fund represents experiential learning in its purest form.
Get intense exposure to the global business environment with this elective course, which immerses you in the business practices and culture of another country.
In this elective week-long residency, you’ll meet with members of Congress, senior civil servants, business executives, lobbyists, and other officials to learn firsthand how public policy affects the U.S. and global economies.
