Brazil: Study in the Heart of São Paulo

D'Amore-McKim's partner school in Brazil is Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) in São Paulo. Students will join the Escola de Administração de Empresas de São Paulo (EAESP). FGV was founded in 1944 with the main purpose of training qualified personnel for the administration of the nation's public and private sectors and has since transitioned in to the areas of research and information. A pioneer in the field of higher education, FGV was the first institution in South America to create Bachelor's degree programs in public administration and business administration. Today, the university has two campuses (Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo) and offers degrees in law, economics, social sciences, and history. The EAESP is housed in a 12-story “headquarters” building in the heart of São Paulo.

The third-largest city in the world, São Paulo boasts a population of 19 million people and is only about 3 times larger (in area) than Paris. Traffic in the city can be so busy that executives routinely use helicopters to skip from office to office. The architecture is varied and combines ultramodern office buildings with wide, European-style boulevards and 16th century churches.
