Our MS in Business Analytics prepares the next generation of leaders for our data-driven, technology-first world. In this experience-powered, STEM-designated program, you'll learn from world-class faculty as you build essential skills in quantitative analysis techniques, visualization, and information management. When you graduate, you'll have the knowledge and experience you need to tackle real-world business challenges and shape strategic decisions. 

You can pursue the MS in Business Analytics on your terms, choosing the full-time, on-ground option in Boston or Oakland—or a fully online format designed for working professionals. On-campus study immerses you in a collaborative environment with direct access to faculty, peers, and networking opportunities, and international students may qualify for F-1 visa work authorization after graduation. The online option, which typically takes 20 months to complete, delivers the same rigorous, STEM-designated curriculum. Thanks to the flexible pacing, you can balance your studies with career and personal commitments from anywhere in the world.

Typical full-time program timeline

In your core courses, you'll learn to interpret, visualize, and leverage data to make strategic decisions and drive business growth. You'll also choose nine credits of electives to build your expertise in areas that interest you as you pursue your unique career goals. Please note: You need to complete an undergraduate, full-semester course in statistics before you enroll in the MS in Business Analytics.

Stackable credits

If you're also considering an MBA from D'Amore-McKim, the MS in Business Analytics can get you halfway there. Once your degree is complete—and you've maintained at least a 3.0 GPA and a minimum grade in each class—you may be able to apply your 30 credits toward an eligible MBA program for up to three years following the completion of your degree. Should your application be accepted, you'll be eligible for the Double Husky scholarship to reduce your tuition by 25%.

Yes. International students must meet additional requirements, including proof of English language proficiency, a valid passport, and English translations of academic transcripts. Yes. International students in F-1 immigration status are eligible for a corporate residency using Curricular Practical Training authorization. When you complete your program, you may become eligible to apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT), which, if granted, allows you to work in the United States for up to 12 months. We encourage you to work closely with your career advisor and an advisor in the Office of Global Services.

Northeastern University's D'Amore-McKim School of Business is currently test-optional and does not require applicants to submit GRE or GMAT scores.

An undergraduate-level, full-semester course in Statistics is required.
