If you have accepted a place on our wait list, you may have some questions, so we've assembled answers to some common questions below.


What does my waitlist status mean?

Your waitlist status means we consider you qualified for admission and see your potential, however, we have to make difficult decisions on a competitive pool of global applicants and we are committed to maintaining our small class size.

Is the wait list ranked?

No.

Can you tell me where I am on the wait list?

We do not rank our waitlist and therefore are unable to give you a sense of your relative position. We ask that you remain patient, as decisions will continue to be rendered up until the beginning of the academic term. 

When will I know if I've been admitted?

Our decision to reconsider waitlist applicants depends upon enrollments. Waitlist decisions occur on a rolling basis and applicants can be admitted or denied right up until the program begins. 

Can you tell me where my application was lacking, or what I should improve on?

If you're on the wait list, it means we consider you qualified for admission and see your potential, though we do not offer specific application feedback to our waitlist applicants. If you think additional information, such as updated test scores, a promotion, or job change could strengthen your application, please send your update to gradbusiness@northeastern.edu and it will be added to your application. This step is optional and we cannot guarantee that additional information will change your decision status.

Okay, what should I do now?

The first step is to log into your application portal and accept your place on the waitlist. There isn't anything more to do beyond notify us of a material change in your situation. We'll send you an email as soon as possible if your decision status changes.
