The Academy of Management (AOM), the preeminent professional association for management and organization scholars, recently hosted its annual conference in Chicago with a theme of “Innovating for the future.” The topic offered members the chance to observe the intersection of innovation, policy, and purpose as a lens for rethinking conventional ways of leading, managing, and organizing.

Many awards were announced for journal authors, reviewers, and symposium conductors across its six journals and 26 divisions and interest groups. The D'Amore-McKim School of Business community was recognized, with three faculty getting prestigious accolades.

Professor Kimberly Eddleston received the Entrepreneurship Practice Award by the Entrepreneurship Division for her work as the founding editor and editor-in-chief of FamilyBusiness.org. Associate Teaching Professor Loredana Padurean took the stage as the keynote speaker at AOM's Teaching and Learning Conference, where she addressed a plenary session of over 300 registrants. Her talk focused on the integration of artificial intelligence into teaching, particularly how AI can be leveraged to blend research into the classroom effectively. Padurean's insights resonated with educators, offering a forward-looking perspective on the evolving role of technology in education.

Assistant Professor Victoria Zhang received the 2024 Responsible Research in Management Award for her co-authored 2023 paper “Where Is All the Deviance?
