Q:What skills are you building at D'Amore-McKim that you will use in your future career?

A:The MS in Taxation program has enabled me to develop valuable experience in the area of taxation research. As well, the need to balance my course load with my professional work has greatly strengthened my time management skills.

Q:Are you participating in any student clubs?

A:I participated in the Graduate Leadership Institute which is an 8-week LEAD 360 program. During the program, I had the opportunity to build on my teamwork and collaboration skills, and to network with other graduate students from different majors outside my program. I also learned more about my own personality traits and the strengths I can leverage to add value in the work place.

Q:Why did you choose D'Amore-McKim?

A:I chose D'Amore-McKim because of its reputation as among the top 5 universities in Boston to get a Master's Degree in Taxation. My coworkers also recommended the program to me. Overall, I felt like it was the best fit for me.

Q:What would you say to a prospective student considering D'Amore-McKim for their business degree?

A:I would emphasize the flexibility and researched-based nature of the program. Most of the classes are geared towards skills that will benefit you either in your career or in preparing you for the CPA exam because the professors truly take our suggestions to heart. Overall, D'Amore-McKim offers a great, highly collaborative environment.

Q:Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?

A:In 5 years, I see myself working for a Big Four accounting firm while continuing to network and build my relationships within the industry. I am very excited to leverage my tax knowledge to grow within a consulting role. In the long term, I am open to either staying on the path to becoming a partner, or returning to school to complete a PhD program.
