Q:What skills are you building at D'Amore-McKim that you will use in your future career?

A:Since I started the program at Northeastern, I have improved many different skills. I have had the opportunity to participate in group activities with people from all over the world, which has helped me develop the skills to collaborate with all kinds of people. I have also improved my class participation skills through in-class debate on a variety of topics. One of the most important skills I have developed is public speaking, and the confidence to present my projects in front of the whole class. This is especially important to me, as it has helped me overcome the shyness that I experienced during presentations prior to the program.

Q:Why did you choose D'Amore-McKim?

A:For two main reasons. First, because of the fact that Northeastern has a great network of corporate partners and potential employers. Second, because of how appealing the program was, especially the fact that the credits I am taking now provide a pathway to my future MBA.

Q:What would you say to a prospective student considering D'Amore-McKim for their business degree?

A:I would say that the school offers great programs to help start your career in the U.S. or in your home country. The programs offered give you a good overview of important business subjects, and help you identify and build towards the next steps in your career.

Q:Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?

A:In five years, I see myself finished with my MBA and in a good position in a company, perhaps in the investment banking industry. In ten years I see myself in a high-level position in a company or having started my own business.

Q:How has D'Amore-McKim helped you become more prepared for your career?

A:The University offers great resources to help students achieve their career goals, like the professionals at the career development center who help with resumé building and the job search. This is extremely important for international students, who have less understanding of the employment market in the U.S. Also, the professors at D'Amore-McKim have awesome backgrounds, which helped provide me direction and next steps in my own career. Overall, D'Amore-McKim is a great choice for people looking to study business in the Boston area.
