Q: How did the BS in International Business and PlusOne MS in International Management boost your career?

A: As an international student, I knew it would be a challenge to launch my career in the U.S., and I was excited to take advantage of the PlusOne program so that I could continue to build my skills. I am a financial manager at a company called Defense Trading Solutions USA, a defense contracting company that works with Homeland Security in Denver, Colorado. My co-op work experience, locally in Boston and abroad in China helped prepare me for this opportunity.

Q: How did D'Amore-McKim prepare you for the global business world?

A: The D'Amore-McKim School of Business has the most savvy and experienced professors in the business arena, and I am still in touch with them today although I am no longer a student. Moreover, I found that as a D'Amore-McKim School of Business student, I learned to tackle issues with a global mindset because of my experiences in class and co-ops which were in both the U.S. and China.

Q: What advice would you give prospective students?

A: I recommend that you get involved as much as possible in the student groups that the business school has to offer. I think most importantly, the chance to have a co-op in Boston and outside the U.S. was a great experience. Go out there to another country and work in an environment that will get you out of your comfort zone. I promise you the personal and professional rewards will be worth it.
