Alvaro Cuervo-Cazurra, professor of international business and strategy at D'Amore-McKim, received an honorary doctorate in March from the Copenhagen Business School's Department of International Economics, Government and Business.

Considered one of the leading business schools in Europe, Copenhagen Business School is also the largest business school in Denmark with more than 20,000 students and 600 professors.

Cuervo-Cazurra is an expert on global strategy. His areas of expertise include: the internationalization of firms, particularly those from emerging markets; capability upgrading, focusing on technological capabilities; and governance issues, especially corruption in international business. He is a faculty fellow of the Center for Emerging Markets Fellow; as well as a fellow of the Academy of International Business and co-editor of Global Strategy Journal. As part of the award ceremony, Cuervo-Cazurra delivered a lecture on “Emerging Market Multinationals: Contributions to International Business Research.”
