The Northeastern University Marketing Association (NUMA) recently competed in the thirty-eighth annual AMA International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans, LA, winning five awards for their advanced marketing ideas and sales practices.
NUMA took home an award for “Outstanding Chapter Communications” for the second year in a row and also placed in “Outstanding Chapter Planning.”
The team placed second in “Display of Chapter Activities” in the chapter exhibit trade show, as well as in the “TEK Outbound Sales Competition.” The team also had a commendable mention in the “Ice Breakers Cool Blasts” case competition, rounding out their five awards.
Preparing for the AMA conference is a year-long process requiring detailed planning for each part of the competition along with a concerted effort to grow as a chapter. President Marjorie Bogart, DMSB'16, helped spearhead the effort.
“We can attribute our success to setting clear goals early on which made execution easier throughout the year. Most notably, we planned a complete rebrand where we overhauled our logo, website, and social channels to be more professional and engaging,” said Bogart.
