Mastering finance through data
Our full-time MS in Quantitative Finance program offers a CFA-aligned curriculum, hands-on experience, and the flexibility international students need with its STEM designation, allowing up to 36 months of post-graduation OPT.


This quantitative finance curriculum emphasizes the intersection of finance and data analytics. Your coursework draws from coding, engineering, mathematics, statistics, and econometrics—giving you experience with tools for intelligent financial analysis, such as Python and advanced Excel.
You'll dive headfirst into experiences that will give you a fresh perspective and in-demand skills. This is what we do best at Northeastern.
Apply to join the student-led management team of the 360 Huntington Fund, where students research, recommend, and choose the stocks that make up the fund. By participating, you can earn one credit per semester up to three times.
Complete the Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) and the Bloomberg Environmental, Social, & Governance (ESG) certification process to gain a deeper understanding of how businesses operate in the global economy—and how they implement strategies to become better corporate citizens.

Curriculum
This is your MS in Quantitative Finance—tailor it to your goals. Of the 30-credit curriculum, core courses cover essential areas like risk analytics, financial modeling, and data analysis, while electives allow for deeper specialization. You'll master skills in optimizing portfolios, managing risk, and leveraging quantitative tools. If you're pursuing the CFA designation, the coursework will help prepare you for the exams.
