Liwei Weng is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University. He joined the faculty in August 2024. Before coming to Northeastern, Professor Weng served as an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where he taught data analytics in accounting.

Professor Weng earned his Ph.D. in Accounting from Arizona State University and holds a Master’s degree in Finance from The University of Texas at Dallas. His research interests focus on financial accounting and auditing, with a particular emphasis on exploring topics such as artificial intelligence (AI), disclosure, ESG (e.g., labor), debt markets (e.g., municipal bonds), audit quality, institutional investors, and analysts.
