Q:Where is your hometown?
A:Warrensburg, NY
Q:What are you studying at the D'Amore-McKim School of Business and what is your graduation year?
A:MBA with a concentration in Corporate Finance, August 2017
Q:What do/did you do in your corporate residency? What are/were your responsibilities? How did you impact the business?
A:I worked at LogMeIn, Inc. on the corporate strategy team. While there I worked on three main projects; developing product line strategies and growth initiatives for 2017, project managing the G&A track of merger integration planning, and producing pricing recommendations for two product launches. These projects assisted business leaders in their decision making for the future growth of LogMeIn.
Q:What skills are you building at D'Amore-McKim that you are using in your corporate residency or will use in your future career?
A:My time at D'Amore-McKim has further developed my time management skills, financial analysis abilities, and ability to synthesize multiple sources of information. These skills have allowed me to provide meaningful solutions to assigned tasks during my residency.
Q:What has been the biggest take-away from working toward your MBA at Northeastern? What can you do today that you couldn't do before you started your MBA?
A:The corporate finance curriculum has helped me to develop financial analysis and modeling skills.
Q:What has been your most valuable experience so far?
A:My corporate residency was my most valuable experience. If allowed me to see first-hand the planning process both financially and strategically that occurs within a corporation.
Q:Why did you choose D'Amore-McKim?
A:I choose D'Amore-McKim because it was a good fit for a career changer like myself. It gave me the MBA experience while also offering a longer term corporate residency than other programs.
Q:What would you say to a prospective student considering D'Amore-McKim for their business degree?
A:I think it is very important for prospective students to understand what they want to get out of a business degree and make sure that the program fits those needs. D'Amore-McKim was a good fit for my goals and career path due to the format of the degree which included the residency portion.
Q:Where do you see yourself in 5 – 10 years?
A:My long-term goal is to work within the management consulting field with concentration on strategy and mergers. Eventually taking my skills built in consulting and shifting into a corporate role leading the business development and strategy teams of either a public or private company.
Q:How has D'Amore-McKim helped you to become more?
A:Without my MBA and corporate residency, I would have had a much harder time obtaining a job in the consulting field. The course work, connections, and experience gained from D'Amore-McKim has put me on a faster track to my career goals that would have been achieved without it.
