D'Amore-McKim School of Business Darla and Frederick Brodsky Trustee Professor Ruth V. Aguilera has been named a Fellow of the International Academy of Management (IAM), joining a highly selective, invitation-only group of scholars recognized for their contributions to the advancement of management as a field.

Founded in Prague in 1924, IAM is the oldest international body dedicated to the advancement of management. Over the course of a century, its Fellows have included many of the figures who shaped modern management thought, from pioneers such as Igor Ansoff and Henry Mintzberg to Michael Porter, C.K. Prahalad, and Stuart Hart, who established the foundations of strategy, organizational behavior, sustainability, and responsible leadership. Membership is by invitation only, extended to individuals whose work has made an outstanding contribution to the field.

Aguilera is the Darla and Frederick Brodsky Trustee Professor in Global Business at D'Amore-McKim. Her research spans global strategy, comparative corporate governance, and corporate sustainability, and her work has been published in leading journals including the Academy of Management Journal, the Academy of Management Review, and Organization Science. She currently serves as senior editor at Organization Science and sits on multiple editorial boards across top management and international business journals.

The recognition adds to a growing list of honors for Aguilera, who was previously inducted as a Fellow of the Strategic Management Society in 2018 and the Academy of International Business in 2016. It also reflects D'Amore-McKim's continued presence among a small circle of institutions whose faculty are recognized at this level in the global management field.

Aguilera will be formally welcomed into the Academy at IAM's next Fellows' meeting, set for November 2026, in Santiago, Chile.
