Q:What are you studying at the D'Amore-McKim School of Business?

A:I've completed the Graduate Certificate in Supply Chain Management at D'Amore-McKim while I was a Master's in Engineering Management student at Northeastern University's College of Engineering.

Q:What skills are you building at D'Amore-McKim that you will use in your future career?

A:At D'Amore McKim I have been given access to the world. Every class has a new set of people who are accomplished and worldly. My graduate certificate program gave me the opportunity to develop soft skills on a global scale. I was exposed to amazing professors like Prof. Bob Murray, whose experience and knowledge level is commendable. I was a nervous presenter, but the numerous presentations I gave over the years at D'Amore McKim helped me develop and improve that skill. The case study method applied by most of the classes, helped me learn how to analyze numerous aspects of a company, focus in on a problem, and work on that problem.

Q:Why did you choose D'Amore-McKim?

A:I chose D'Amore- McKim because I could have interdisciplinary student status and earn my Graduate Certificate in Supply Chain Management while simultaneously earning my master's degree in the College of Engineering. D'Amore-McKim offers you a wide variety of subjects in their classes and you can mix and match to get what exactly what you want. When I walked to my enrollment advisor, I was welcomed and felt comfortable because she took the time to explain everything about the program. This made me feel confident about my choice because I knew that this school cares about my success.

Q:What would you say to a prospective student considering D'Amore-McKim for their business certificate?

A:I would say, ‘Choose the right subjects, put in the work, and be ready to be challenged. D'Amore- McKim cares about its students and if you have a question just ask, you will find someone here who will answer.'

Q:Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?

A:I see myself building a global company for waste management and successfully managing my existing business in India. I want to make recycling profitable. I would also like lead the initiative of women in coding, and start a self-defense training centre chain in India. I know the road ahead is going to be very hard, but with everything I have learnt, all the knowledge I gained, I think I can find my way. Whatever I do, whatever I achieve, I hope to be happy and content with it.

Q:How has D'Amore-McKim helped you become more?

A:Yes, D'Amore Mckim has helped me gain the confidence in various aspects of my professional life.

  • It taught me how to successfully interact and work with people from all over the world.
  • It helped me overcome the fear of leadership, I was put in positions where I had to lead a team of students for projects, small presentations and in-class debates.

D'Amore -Mckim gave me the skill set to be a good leader, successful entrepreneur with classes like ‘Business Planning for New Ventures' and a buoyant supply chain manager.

Q:Do you participate in any student clubs?

A:I participated in the Northeastern Supply Chain Management Club. We met every Thursday with a new guest speaker each week who gave us insights into his or her company and industry. These meetings were also amazing networking opportunities and the discussions would bring out great points that could be applicable in numerous real life situations. Meeting people from the industry helped me to better understand what the job entails. By hearing how they applied their knowledge to real-life situations, this encouraged me to choose the right elective courses and inspired me to work harder for every class.
