Timothy J. Rupert

Accounting Professor and Accounting Group Chair

Professor Rupert's interests include cognitive and decision-making processes of taxpayers and tax practitioners. His research uses behavioral methodologies to examine the impact of changes in the structure of the tax system on decision making and fairness perceptions.  

Professor Rupert is a member of the editorial board for the Journal of the American Taxation Association, Behavioral Research in Accounting, Advances in Taxation, and Advances in Behavioral Accounting Research.

Olivia Cox

MS in Accounting/MBA ‘25, Dickinson College, International Business & Management

Olivia grew up in Kennebunkport, Maine, and from a young age, found a passion for meeting new people through various summer jobs and used her free time to explore New England. Eager to continue broadening her horizons, she chose to attend Dickinson College for the opportunity to study abroad in Málaga, Spain, which only deepened her interest in connecting with new communities and discovering new places. At Dickinson, Olivia completed two internships for public accounting firms in Maine and volunteered for the VITA Tax Clinic in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Through these experiences, she found a strong connection to the business and accounting world. Recently graduated with honors, she is excited for the opportunities that Boston offers for connecting with people, exploring, and being closer to her hometown. Olivia enjoys spending free time outside, reading mystery novels, doing puzzles, and hiking.

Raheme Taylor

Howard University, Sociology, MS in Accounting/MBA ‘25

Straight out of the Bronx, New York, it's Raheme Taylor! Born in the Big Apple, but with strong ties to Jamaica, Raheme spent part of his childhood in the vibrant community of Portmore. As un undergrad at Howard University, he deepened his understanding of the black experience attending an historically black university. Summer internships at JP Morgan Chase solidified his interest in financial markets and inspired him to seek formal education in accounting and business. Raheme is a passionate sports fan, following several teams that can make or break his mood. He loves the Miami Heat, the NY Yankees, the Giants, and the French football club Paris Saint-Germain. In his free time, Raheme likes to work out, write poetry, and make new connections with people. He's an avid listener to all sorts of music genres such as hip-hop, rock, old Soul, and R&B music. Raheme's journey has taken him through a variety of experiences, and now he's excited to start this new chapter in Boston at Northeastern! 

Evan Farr

Union College, Economics,  MS in Accounting/MBA ‘25

Evan grew up in Saratoga Springs, New York. After graduating high school, he decided to attend nearby Union College, where he played collegiate soccer. As an economics major at a liberal arts school, Evan was unsure about what career path he wanted to pursue. During his senior year, he was exposed to the MSA/MBA program at Northeastern through a presentation at the career center. This ultimately led him, through networking and further research, to pursue an interest in accounting. Although he spent his childhood in New York, Evan was born in Boston and has since visited many times. He is a Celtics and Red Sox fan and is excited to immerse himself in the city. In his free time, Evan is very active. He enjoys the outdoors, playing soccer, golf, tennis; and he skis alpine in the winter. Evan also enjoys travelling and spending time with family/friends. 

Jamenard Exavier

Colby College, Economics, MS in Accounting/MBA ‘25

A first generation Haitian-American, Jamenard holds a bachelor's degree from Colby College with a concentration in financial markets. He is a published researcher and former Questbridge Scholar with a robust background in economics. Jamenard is hoping to leverage his strong analytical skills & passion for problem solving to ultimately help organizations optimize internal processes and further develop new, innovative practices. Jamenard enjoys working in group settings and values the importance of collaborative work. Outside of his professional pursuits, Jamenard is a former avid rugby player and chess enthusiast in addition to his interests in cooking and fitness. Jamenard's biggest strength is his ability to look at problems from various, different perspectives to determine the best course of action. His greatest weakness may very well be his affinity for sugary drinks (primarily blue Gatorade). 

Emma Vakili

University of San Diego, Finance, MS in Accounting/MBA ‘25

Emma was born and raised in Orange County, California, before going to the University of San Diego where she earned her degree in Finance with a minor in PPE (philosophy, politics, and economics). Her love of traveling led her to study abroad in Rome where she absorbed different cultures and gained a more global perspective through her exploration of Europe. When she returned, Emma worked for a small CPA firm in San Diego, in addition to the San Diego Padres accounting department where she discovered her love for the accounting industry and the financial intricacies that serve as the foundation of business. This newfound passion for accounting led Emma to enroll in the MSA/MBA program at Northeastern where she can hone her analytical skills and forge a new path. With her combined degrees, Emma hopes to become adept in the world of business and continue a lifelong commitment to learning and growing.

As an experienced accounting professional, Julie mentors the next generation of business leaders. Julie directs graduate accounting programs, leading a talented team in engaging, enrolling, and advising students from a broad range of backgrounds. Julie's experience as a CPA at a Big Four firm equips her with the insight and expertise to guide students as they transform into accounting professionals who lead with impact and integrity.

Julie cultivates and manages corporate partnerships with Big 4 and global accounting firms to support experiential learning, job placement, and curriculum optimization.
