AI for Business

Today, in business, the biggest risk is not using AI. Artificial intelligence is so present in our lives, narratives, and ambitions that no company can afford not to think about how to adopt AI and put it to use to enable their strategy and achieve their purpose.

In order to lead with impact, D'Amore-McKim fosters learning across many borders—geographic, disciplinary, and more. A key aspect of this is our ability to navigate and communicate effectively between academia and the corporate world. As we aim to integrate AI and data into our work more fully, intelligent technologies must become central in this work. Our corporate engagements and development efforts will increasingly focus on donors, alumni, and corporate partners in the tech industry. The goal is to make them a larger part of our school's ecosystem, encouraging organic partnerships between the school, faculty, and companies, such as hiring faculty experts or funding relevant student projects.

We look forward to collaborating with companies to identify workshops and particular avenues for AI collaboration. Business leaders cannot ignore the use of AI anymore, but, at the same time, leaders need to be savvy in using human-centered approaches so their employees will accept the use of AI and at the same time promote skills training where employees learn to combine the powers of AI with their own unique human skills that can truly drive creativity and, hence, innovation.

While we are excited to do so much more, DASH is already generating critical research and tools that help businesses understand and harness the transformative power of AI. Our faculty are investigating real-world challenges—from how AI reshapes operations and strategic planning to how consumers respond to AI-generated content and the ethical nuances of autonomous technology. Projects like Ad-LLaMa, which decodes advertising effectiveness using AI, and personalized systems for freelancers are just a few examples of how DASH bridges innovation and impact. At the same time, we're infusing socially responsible AI across our educational programs to ensure that graduates leave not only AI-fluent, but also prepared to apply it thoughtfully in complex business environments. For corporate partners, DASH offers a window into emerging trends, a pipeline of talent, and a platform for collaboration on the future of work.
