Oommen Thomas is an Assistant Teaching Professor at D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University's Oakland campus. He joined the faculty, full-time, in January 2026 with a joint appointment in the Finance & SCIM Academic Groups.

Thomas brings a depth of industry experience to the classroom. He began his career as an engineer in heavy manufacturing before earning a PhD in Finance and transitioning into financial economics, ultimately spending 25 years as a consultant and business executive. His most recent corporate roles were at KPMG, where he served as the US Head of KPMG's IP Consulting practice, Managing Director in the Economic and Valuation Services (EVS) practice, and as the National People Development Leader for the EVS practice.

In the classroom, Thomas is focused on building conceptual fluency and practical business judgment. He particularly enjoys making finance accessible to non-finance professionals and entrepreneurs and is drawn to the application of financial thinking in operational contexts, where analytical rigor meets practical constraints.

He continues to stay connected to the business world through consulting engagements and through Project SkillStrong, a workforce development initiative he founded to help close critical skills gaps in the manufacturing sector.
