Eppa Rixey studies and teaches strategy and international business with a particular focus on how smaller firms and interest groups build influence at the local and state level. His current research examines strategies for policy influence and stakeholder management in two contexts, the craft beer industry and the development of public natural areas. His research and teaching draw on his extensive experience as a corporate strategist focused on sustainability and government relations and as a community volunteer advocating for environmentally responsible urban development in an environmental justice community.
In addition to teaching and research, he consults on strategy for client organizations through his company Embedded Research and Consulting and works on urban sustainability as a leader of the Alewife Study Group (alewife.org) and as a board member of Green Cambridge (greencambridge.org/). Prior to his doctoral studies, he worked in corporate strategy for Bain & Company, Lagunitas Brewing Company, and Heineken.
