More than 30 student and alumni startups were on display Thursday night at NEXPO, the entrepreneurial showcase hosted by Northeastern's student-run venture accelerator, IDEA. The event put a fitting exclamation mark at the end of a weeklong celebration of the university's burgeoning entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Sponsored by the Kauffman Foundation, Global Entrepreneurship Week is celebrated in some 160 countries worldwide, with various events and activities aimed at boosting ventures of all levels. At Northeastern, GEW was anchored by four main events: Monday showcased the Husky Startup Challenge: Demo Day; Tuesday brought Jim Ziolkowski, best-selling author and CEO of buildOn, to the stage; Wednesday featured a documentary film and panel discussion sponsored by the Social Enterprise Institute; and, finally, Friday was NEXPO.
