Undergraduate Advising
D'Amore-McKim academic advisors are committed to helping you get the assistance you need, whether it is in our office or by referring you to another university resource. Advisors can help you navigate the university and clear the pathway to your academic success.
Who is My Advisor?
The Undergraduate Advising Team aims to meet students where they are to provide the specific support they need. Our cohort-based approach assigns students an individual academic advisor within an advising team. Advising teams are specialized based on a student's progression through their academic path.
As students accumulate credit towards graduation, their advising team and assigned advisor will shift. This generally happens after the completion of the first year on the Boston campus. First-year advising focuses on providing foundational information to assist students in understanding their degree requirements and options, as well as resources to facilitate the transition to college. Sophomore year, sudents receive a primary advisor assignment that will continue through to graduation. Students who transferred to Northeastern from another College or University are assigned an academic advisor who remains with them for the duration of their remaining semesters at D'Amore-McKim.
Our advising model follows a developmental approach and allows students to have both an assigned advisor and access to a team specialized in supporting the needs of students based a student's progression.
