Teaching & Learning at D'Amore-McKim

The Accounting faculty are some of the most outstanding classroom instructors, with many having won prestigious University and School teaching awards. The faculty bring a wealth of professional expertise to the classroom which reinforces and extends students' co-op (undergraduate level) and corporate internships (graduate level) experiences. Our learning approach focuses on the application of accounting theory and principles so that students will have the skills and knowledge they need to thrive and succeed in the accounting profession.

Experiential learning is an integral part of our students' overall academic experience. Combining theory and practice is essential for successful accounting professionals. At the undergraduate level, our students co-op for national and international public accounting firms (BDO Seidman, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, Grant Thornton, KPMG, PwC), regional/local public accounting firms (e.g., Caturano, Feeley & Driscoll), and private firms (e.g., Gillette, Vanguard). At the graduate level, our students intern for public accounting firms including BDO Seidman, Caturano, Cbiz Tofias, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, Grant Thornton, PwC, and UHY.
