Ravit Heskiau currently teaches organizational behavior as a part of the Management and Organizational Development Group. Her academic teaching experience as course instructor and teaching assistant includes undergraduate, MBA, and Executive MBA courses in the areas of economics, research methodology, statistics, organizational behavior, work-life balance, and stress in organizations.
Heskiau’s research is focused on employees' multiple identities and roles, and how the interface between work and non-work roles can be leveraged to promote performance and well-being. She studies theory-based interventions that empower individuals to manage the work-life interface. Through her research work, she designed and evaluated online training programs. Her research was presented at conferences such as the Academy of Management Annual Meeting and the annual conference of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. It was awarded the Best PhD Dissertation Award by the Human Resources Research Institute of Canada, as well as the Delta Kappa Gamma World Fellowship by the Delta Kappa Gamma International Society for Key Women Educators.
Prior to obtaining her PhD in organizational behavior and human resource management from the University of Toronto, Heskiau held different leadership and educational positions. During her service in the Israeli Air Force, she worked as the head of a weather forecasting team, as well as the commander and main instructor of a meteorology officer training course. She also worked as a weather forecaster and producer in two major television channels.
