Why minor in Sustainable Business Practices?

  • Build in-demand skills: Learn about environmental issues like global warming, toxic substances, and natural resource depletion, and the steps businesses take to mitigate these issues.
  • Specialize your minor: Choose from a variety of elective courses in technology, economics, environmental science, and more to specialize your path based on your goals.
  • Gain first-hand experience: In your summer field project, you'll gain first-hand experience exploring the ways responsible business practices interact with the environment, and vice versa.
  • Prepare for a range of careers: As more organizations become aware of their environmental impact, professionals with an understanding of sustainability are more in demand than ever before.

Program options

Required coursework introduces key environmental challenges and explores how businesses respond through innovative practices and sustainability strategies.

Electives allow students to explore sustainability through a broad interdisciplinary lens, with courses spanning environmental science, economics, ethics, public policy, marketing, global enterprise, and responsible investing.

Field Study

The Sustainable Business field study may be fulfilled by the summer study abroad via DIS Abroad Copenhagen. Although it is strongly encouraged that students consider the DIS Abroad Copenhagen program, each year certain Dialogue of Civilizations are approved to fulfill the requirement. You can reach out to [email protected] to learn more about the approved list of field of study options for this minor.
