Nirajana Mishra is an Assistant Professor in the Marketing Group at the D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University.
As a consumer psychologist, she is fascinated by how people interact with technology and money. Her research primarily focuses on two key areas: examining how emerging technologies impact consumption experiences and investigating the ways consumers make judgments regarding money. As someone originally from South Asia, she is also excited about extending her research to explore consumer behaviors in field settings across that region, bringing a unique cultural perspective to her work.
Her research interests have been partly shaped by her industry experience at firms such as American Express, Citi Bank, and GE Capital, where she led digital transformation of consumer products and processes.
Mishra adopt an interdisciplinary approach, using rigorous experiments (e.g., online experiments, randomized control trials in the field), and developing a thorough understanding of respective markets (e.g., by exploring secondary datasets or consumer reviews).
She is a continuing research fellow at Yale Center of Customer Insights, School of Management, Yale University.
