Steve Langton, DMSB'06, will compete in his third Olympic games in February 2018 as a member of the U.S. Olympic Men's Bobsled team. Langton graduated with honors from Northeastern University, earning a degree in business management and entrepreneurship.
During his time at Northeastern, Langton was a two-year captain the men's track and field team. He placed third in the 100-meter dash during the 2004 Outdoor America East Championship and third in the 55- meter dash at the 2005 Indoor America East Championships.
Langton previously competed in the Olympic Games in Vancouver and Sochi. In the 2014 Sochi games, he earned a bronze medal in both the two – and four-man bobsled events, the first time the U.S. had won a medal in the sport since 1952. He came out of retirement just in time to train for and win the 2017 National Push Championship for the fifth time, earning him a spot on the Olympic 12- man team roster.
Langton is one of four huskies who will compete in February. Three Northeastern Women's Hockey alumnae will represent three countries in Pyeongchang: Kendall Coyne (2016) will skate in her second Olympic Games for Team USA, Florence Schelling (2012) will play for Switzerland, and Laura Schuler (1993) will coach Team Canada.
