Q:Why did you choose D'Amore-McKim?
A: I was already enrolled at Northeastern University, earning my MS in Engineering Management in the College of Engineering and I wanted to add a business mindset to my engineering background. As an engineer, I wanted to learn how business works in real life so I can be ready to work on a corporate level whenever it's needed. I was able to become an interdisciplinary student which meant that I could earn my Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship at the same time. My certificate courses were counted as elective credits for my master's program.
Q: What skills are you building at D'Amore-McKim that you will use in your future career?
A:The graduate certificate program is helping me to build entrepreneurial and leadership skills. In addition, the program offers many opportunities to work in teams so I am now quite comfortable working on collaborative projects. I learned about my classmates' cultures and how to work with people from different backgrounds. My favorite class focused on Brainstorming. In this class, I learned how to take initiatives, turn ideas into a reality, and how to cooperate in a team setting.
Q: What would you say to a prospective student considering D'Amore-McKim for their business degree?
A: I would strongly recommend it. I can't describe the amount of knowledge and exposure I have had in one year at D'Amore-McKim.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?
A: I see myself working for my own company.
