Q: What skills are you building at D'Amore-McKim that you will use in your future career?

A: I have improved my skills in communications and business analysis. The courses have helped me to become more aware of business uncertainties and strategies. For example, I learned how a hospital department dealt with their human resources in a financial crisis, and how a hotel chain managed their international employees. This knowledge is not so directly related to my work experiences, but they have opened my mind and helped me to accept and prepare for possible bigger challenges of the business world. Most businesses need to learn how to follow the laws, how to save costs, how to face a crisis, how to seek for international markets, how to train, develop and retain their best employees. These are useful things I have learned.

Q: Why did you choose D'Amore-McKim?

A: I feel very lucky to know about the school and the program. I knew about Northeastern University about ten years ago, but missed a chance to apply for the undergraduate program at that time. When I was searching for a graduate program, my friend referred me a seminar of D'Amore-McKim School coming up the following week in Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam. I think the cost is affordable, the program design plus the OPT are dynamic and practical so I took a chance to apply. This is one of the most exciting decisions I have ever made in my life so far. I took a risk to live here alone and study hard at graduate school and I have given myself more opportunities to learn and grow stronger in the coming years.

Q: What would you say to a prospective student considering D'Amore-McKim for their business degree?

A: If you like to learn more from others, and are willing to take some risks to better your life, taking the graduate certificate at D'Amore-McKim is definitely one of the best decisions. It will help you grow and immerse yourself in the business world while you enjoy peace at school.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?

A: I wish to finish the master's program and work here in the U.S. to gain some good experience for a few years. After that, I hope to be able to set up a trading business and a yoga place somewhere after I have a more thorough business analysis and preparation.

Q:How has D'Amore-McKim helped you become more?

A:The experiences of living alone away from home and having to learn all new things by myself in a new place, make me feel stronger and more confident day by day. The classes I have been taking at D'Amore-McKim are incredibly resourceful, interactive, and practical. I have to participate in classes and have some team projects. My professors are so helpful. Whenever I ask them about business, I am amazed that they have had so much experience and knowledge for me to learn from. This has been really an unlimited and intense learning experience for me.
