The D'Amore-McKim School of Business will hold a ceremony for conferred graduate students on Sept. 3, 2015 at Matthews Arena. Distinguished speaker and D'Amore-McKim alumnus Spencer Fung, PA'96, will keynote.
D'Amore-McKim School of Business Professor of Finance Jeffery Born explains why what's happening in China is impacting the U.S. stock market, the nature of the stock market, and what it all means for you.
Andrea Garcia, DMSB'17, and Leah Bury, DMSB'18 traveled across the globe to serve as business consultants in the townships and informal settlements of Cape Town, South Africa, where company success is a matter of survival.
“This firsthand experience in corporate finance has been crucial. It not only helped me land a full time finance position after graduation, it also gave me the opportunity to talk to people in different functions of finance while identifying areas of interest to me,” says Julie (Shenghui) Wang, MBA'15.
“Prior to my residency, I had planned on taking up supply chain management as my concentration, however this Corporate Residency has helped me gain a clearer picture of my career goals. I've decided to go with Marketing—specifically product management,” says Nakul Goramadugu Venkateshappa, MBA'15.
“I sharpened my analytical abilities through multiple projects working with big data in order to pull out the key messages. I also further developed my communication skills by working with people from different backgrounds in order to reach a common goal. Overall, I feel that I am well prepared for my future in the supply chain industry,” says Kayla Rice, MBA'15.
“Apart from the skills I developed during the Corporate Residency, the first-hand experience in working with the sell-side analysts also allowed me to directly interact with industry professionals from corporate executives and buy-side investors. And this experience has positioned me to pursue long-term career opportunities in the investment industry,” Huang says.
