D'Amore-McKim School of Business Associate Teaching Professor Daniele Mathras has been named the school's new Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs, effective July 1, 2024. She's leading curriculum development and program strategy, in addition to guiding the teams that support students through academic advising, student services, and cooperative education. In her more than nine years as a faculty member at the school, Mathras has also served as the Marketing and Brand Management Concentration coordinator, a member of the Undergraduate Programs and Assessment Committee, a member of the DMSB Global Network Task Force, and as the faculty advisor for the student club NUMA, Northeastern University's Marketing Association.

“The thing I'm most excited about is the scope of this new role,” said Mathras. “I get to… affect the journeys of 5000 or more students across our global network, not just here in Boston… but really all over our global network, our Boston campus, our Oakland campus, our London campus, and new campuses that we have coming.”

Prior to joining Northeastern, Mathras earned her doctorate in Marketing at Arizona State University, where she helped run the Marketing Behavioral Lab. Earlier in her career she held marketing, brand management, public relations, licensing, and consulting roles within the entertainment (Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Nelvana, Electronic Arts), retailing (PUMA), culinary publishing (Lisa Ekus Group), and natural foods (Seed to Shelf: Marketing for Sustainability) industries, which informed her research and teaching programs.

Mathras is known for her connection to industry and Northeastern's innovation ecosystem, bringing experiential offerings into her classroom via real-world partner projects that offer students meaningful collaborations with start-ups and more established businesses and community organizations. She also has a reputation for fostering strong relationships with students, having won the Northeastern University Excellence in Teaching Award in 2022 and receiving the D'Amore-McKim Best Teacher Award in 2022 and 2023. Her approach to education emphasizes empathy, social responsibility, and the development of ethical business practices—values that resonate deeply with the school's core values.

“I think our undergraduate students are phenomenal. We have such an opportunity to learn from our students just the way that they're learning from us,” she said.

This appointment comes at a pivotal time for D'Amore-McKim, as the school continues to innovate and adapt to the ever-evolving business landscape. Mathras' leadership promises to bring fresh ideas and continued success to the undergraduate programs, further enhancing the school's impact on future business leaders of the world.
