In the quest for harmony, most family businesses face tough decisions
The most successful family businesses have already figured out the secret to family business longevity: consolidate or diversify the family, not the business. Sometimes what one may consider to be “failure” from a family business standpoint is actually the best solution. Harmony is not free, and it doesn't come cheap.
Ted Clark, Executive Professor at D'Amore-McKim and Director of the Center for Family Business, will lead a workshop on identifying succession patterns and common reasons they fail or succeed.
Caleb White, former CEO and current sixth-generation owner of Ensign-Bickford Industries, Inc., will share his family's experience with succession.
