Why minor in Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship?
- Build your entrepreneurial mindset: Through interdisciplinary courses offered in collaboration with the College of Social Sciences and Humanities (CSSH), you'll develop diverse perspectives and an entrepreneurial approach to challenges.
- Specialize your minor: Choose from a variety of elective courses in social responsibility, investing, global markets, and more to specialize your path based on your goals.
- Gain hands-on international experience: You'll participate in an immersive, two course Dialogue of Civilizations experience where you'll study with Northeastern faculty in an international location.
- Prepare to make an impact: You'll gain the skills and experience you need to develop and implement innovative approaches to social challenges like poverty, disease, and illiteracy.
Program options
Required coursework introduces students to entrepreneurship in the social sector, focusing on how innovative, values-driven leaders use business models to address pressing global challenges and create lasting social impact. Additional coursework may include a travel-based learning experience through a Dialogue of Civilizations program or other approved options.
Electives span topics such as social responsibility, impact investing, global development, and nonprofit leadership. Field study options are approved by the director of the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship minor and/or the D'Amore-McKim undergraduate dean's office.
