Isabel Lau is pursuing a Data Science and Business major with a concentration in Finance. Her interest in emerging markets developed through coursework in international business, where she explored global market entry strategies and examined how political and economic systems shape business decisions across countries.

She has been an active attendee at Center for Emerging Markets events and participated in the 2024 CEM Case Competition, which deepened her interest in how companies approach growth in emerging economies. Isabel is particularly drawn to the fast-changing nature of global markets and the diverse approaches countries take toward development. On campus, Isabel is involved in NUImpact, Northeastern's impact investing initiative, as an investment analyst.

As a CEM Student Associate, she hopes to contribute to event planning and help expand more interactive programming, such as workshops, debates, and student-driven discussions, while continuing to build her understanding of emerging markets through research and collaboration.
