Ashish Chugh is Chief Investment Officer of Emerging Market Equities at Frontier Investment Management Partners (FIM Partners), an investment management firm focused on emerging markets. He leads the firm's emerging market equity investment platform, overseeing investment strategy, portfolio management, research, and team development across the firm's emerging market equity strategies. He also serves on several of the firm's investment committees.
Prior to joining FIM Partners, Ashish was Head of Global Emerging Market Equities at Loomis, Sayles & Company, where he led the firm's global emerging market equity business and was Portfolio Manager of its long-only and long-short global emerging market equity strategies. Before Loomis Sayles, he was a Managing Director at Och-Ziff Capital in Hong Kong, where he managed an emerging markets portfolio for the firm's multi-strategy hedge fund. Earlier, he spent a decade at Wellington Management Company as a Managing Director, investing in long-short emerging market equities. He previously worked at Blue Chip Venture Company, where he focused on venture capital and private equity investments.
Since beginning his investment career in 2003, Ashish has developed deep expertise in emerging market investing, with more than two decades of experience managing institutional portfolios across long-only and long-short strategies. He has built and led investment teams while developing disciplined, repeatable investment processes across diverse emerging markets.
Earlier in his career, Ashish worked as an engineer at IBM in Toronto and as an analyst at Hitachi in Tokyo. He holds a BASc in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is fluent in Hindi.
