Nardone Family Seminar: Platforms Against The State
Isak Ladegaard, Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of Hong Kong, discussed his research on how digital platforms challenge state power. In this talk, he explored how online systems like anti-censorship software in China and far-right economies in the U.S. survive regulation and create alternative socio-economic domains. Attendees gained insight into how technology reshapes governance and drives social change across contexts.
Emerging Markets Minor Info Session
This info session gave prospective students a chance to learn about the Emerging Markets minor directly from Northeastern students who are pursuing it. Panelists shared how the minor shaped their global perspective, influenced co-op and research choices, and opened doors across regions and industries.

2025 Undergraduate Case Competition on Emerging Markets
The Center for Emerging Markets (CEM) is excited to announce our second annual Undergraduate Case Competition on Emerging Markets on Saturday, October 18th, 2025. This student-led competition will once again challenge students to step beyond their coursework and tackle complex real-world business scenarios. Multidisciplinary teams are encouraged to apply. This event is open to undergraduate students from all Northeastern colleges and schools.
