Rafaela Vargas Uribe is a Business Administration student at Northeastern University’s D’Amore-McKim School of Business, concentrating in Finance with a minor in Economics. Originally from Medellín, Colombia, her background has shaped a strong interest in the dynamics and potential of emerging markets.

Growing up in Medellín gave her a firsthand perspective on how emerging markets operate and the opportunities they present. She later discovered Northeastern’s Center for Emerging Markets, a space that closely aligned with her academic and professional interests and allowed her to further explore these topics.

As a CEM Student Associate, Rafaela is excited to contribute to event planning and research initiatives. She is particularly passionate about research and looks forward to engaging more deeply with emerging market topics while supporting programming that connects students with life changing opportunities. She hopes to use this experience to continue building her understanding of global development and one day contribute meaningfully to Colombia’s long-term growth.
