The D'Amore-McKim School of Business recently wrapped up a transformative executive education program designed to propel a leading global telecommunications company into its next chapter of growth. The immersive, multi-continent experience concluded in Munich, Germany, and was the final installment of a three-part journey that spanned the globe — starting in Boston, continuing in Bengaluru, and finishing strong in the heart of Europe.
The program was crafted to equip top-level executives with the insights, skills, and perspectives needed to lead in an increasingly complex and competitive global landscape. Each location was strategically chosen to maximize experiential learning and real-world application.
Boston: The tech frontier

In Boston, participants were immersed in the latest technologies and innovations shaping the telecom and digital industries. With access to D'Amore-McKim's cutting-edge research and led by distinguished faculty George Yip, the cohort explored advancements AI, Nano Systems and IoT. The focus was on understanding how emerging tech is reshaping their sector — and how to lead through that transformation.
Executives also visited established innovation hubs in the Boston area, engaging directly with industry leaders to understand how technology is being deployed at scale.

Executives explored the transformative potential of nanosystems innovation in a session led by Northeastern University's Institute for NanoSystems Innovation, equipping them with cutting-edge knowledge for strategic leadership.
Bengaluru: Innovation meets market diversity
The second leg of the journey took the group to Bengaluru — India's tech capital. Here, the focus shifted to business models, market dynamics, and customer innovation in emerging economies. Led by Professor Anand Nair, participants visited prominent, well-established companies and heard from guest speakers from Google and other top institutions. These sessions provided valuable insight into how leading organizations are navigating complexity, fostering innovation, and driving growth in fast-paced markets.

Munich: Leadership and culture at the core
The final stop in Munich emphasized leadership, culture, and strategic alignment. Acclaimed faculty member Laura Huang guided sessions on transformational leadership, communication and influence, and organizational culture. In one of Europe's most dynamic business hubs, the executives explored how to drive cultural change, lead across borders, and build resilient, high-performing teams. In addition to classroom learning, participants visited major European enterprises, where they exchanged insights with senior executives on how leadership and culture are activated within complex, global organizations.

What made the Munich finale truly unforgettable was the depth of personal reflection and connection. Through powerful faculty-led sessions and candid peer discussions, participants were challenged not only to think differently — but to lead differently. It was a moment of clarity and cohesion, where strategy, culture, and leadership came together in a way that resonated far beyond the classroom.
The program concluded with a memorable closing dinner at the historic Ratskeller, a fitting celebration of global learning, connection, and achievement.

Executives wrapped up their learning journey with a relaxed closing dinner, bonding over great food, fun, and casual discussions that strengthened both their network and insights.
