Program options

Advancing technology continues to disrupt the business landscape—and the impact of new technology is only becoming more significant as the rate of innovation speeds up. More than ever, organizations need leaders with multidisciplinary skills who can implement and manage digital solutions across channels and sectors. Few programs exist that give rising leaders the deep technological understanding they need, and even fewer offer transformative opportunities to learn through experience.

Our MS in Management with a Strategic Technology Leadership concentration is an executive program delivered online with two in-person residencies, designed to help you build strategic expertise, gain hands-on experience, and prepare for a C-suite role.

Core coursework will deepen your strategic expertise in managing organizations, data-driven decision-making, strategy and growth, and finance and operations. You'll also tailor your learning with nine credits of electives in focus areas like analytics, cybersecurity, entrepreneurship, the metaverse, or sustainability—building the specialized knowledge you need to reach your unique goals.

You'll start each semester at a four-day, on-site, in-person residency—giving you the chance to network with your classmates and professors as you explore topics critical to gaining a competitive edge in our changing business environment. For the first two residencies, you can choose to attend in either Boston or London. The third residency will bring your entire cohort together in Boston.

Residency 1: Strategic Disruption

You'll explore how organizations invest in new technologies to gain a competitive edge and improve performance through strategic planning, technology road mapping, and market analysis. You'll gain hands-on experience formulating and implementing strategic plans. Join members of your cohort in Boston or London.

Residency 2: Innovation Leaders Studio

You'll learn how to market and sell new products or services, design strategic revenue strategies, and tackle challenges in implementing innovation processes using digital technologies and collaborative cultures. Engage with research, cases, and hands-on learning. Join members of your cohort in Boston or London.

Residency 3: Executive Operations Summit

You'll manage technology-driven operations using risk management, quality control, and IT support principles. You'll apply operational metrics, analytics, and business intelligence to drive decisions and optimize performance. Join your entire cohort in Boston.

For your class project, which spans the entire duration of your program, you'll work with an industry-leading executive mentor to develop a technology solution for a business challenge in your current organization or proposed business venture. You'll develop your plan in three phases and present an oral defense at each step. At the end of the program, you'll walk away with a valuable professional asset and experience that will help you advance your career.

Term I

In the first semester, you'll jumpstart your transformative business plan and begin honing the pitch with your mentor. Your first global residency is a chance to meet colleagues and industry insiders. While attending, you'll pitch your plan to a panel of faculty and technology thought leaders.

Terms 2 & 3

During this stretch, you'll define the components of your executive strategy and prepare for your second oral defense at the next global residency. Your faculty and executive mentor will play a crucial role in the refinement process.

Term 4

At this stage, your business plan is nearing completion. Your emerging business plan will lay out the infrastructure needed for full implementation. You'll make a final oral defense at your last global residency in Boston. With a finalized plan, you'll graduate with a potent asset, and an enlarged network that includes some of the world's most prominent technology thought leaders and a mentor whose input you can seek as you advance your career.
