Community Impact Initiative
Build your experience while earning your degree
At D'Amore-McKim, experience-driven learning is at the core of everything we do. Whether you're looking to advance in your current career, pivot to a new industry, or both, applying your classroom knowledge in real-world settings will be an invaluable part of your journey.
Support a non-profit with your expertise
Apply what you've learned in the classroom to a position at a non-profit. These team-based experiential opportunities offer rewarding, educational work in business analytics and beyond.
During your Community Impact Initiative, you'll undertake a strategic business project with a nonprofit, meet with senior leadership, a project manager and your peers regularly, and help an organization achieve its mission. A Community Impact Initiative is the perfect opportunity to gain work experience, a diverse set of skills, and network with industry professionals.
Timeline
Community Impact Initiatives last 8-12 weeks during the Summer term, are part-time unpaid positions, and are typically completed remotely.
How to apply
Your first step is to complete an application with the Graduate Career Center specifying which projects you want to pursue. Career advisors screen applications to ensure applicants meet the requirements established by the employer. Representatives from the nonprofit accept the students they feel will be a strong fit for their project and team. Some employers may invite you to an interview.
