At D'Amore-McKim, we encourage you to be bold and fearless in the pursuit of excellence—and to think like an entrepreneur. You can do both by collaborating with IDEA, Northeastern's unique student-led venture accelerator that supports young startups as they launch and grow. By working with IDEA, you'll build your entrepreneurial skill set, connect with a vibrant network of innovators, and receive support as you pitch, develop, and launch your idea-based business.

Also, if you're a graduate student or professional who would like to coach startups, IDEA may be able to connect you with entrepreneurs who need support in your area of expertise. It's a great way to share your time and talents—and possibly create a positive impact on the community around you.

Get Involved

  • If you're a would-be entrepreneur with a business idea—even if it's still just a raw concept— it's a requirement to RSVP for an upcoming New Venture Information Session to learn about all the ways IDEA can support you with funding, coaching, and networking.
  • If you're an undergraduate student who would like to join us as we grow our program and help ventures succeed, apply to join our student management team
  • If you have advanced skills, experience, or a successful startup under your belt and you'd like to share your time and expertise with entrepreneurs, apply to become a Ready Stage Coach or a Venture Mentor.
  • If you want to plug into the entrepreneurial community for networking and ideas, sign up for Nexpo or Pitchathon, two entrepreneurial showcase events with participants from around the world.

As a first-time entrepreneur, IDEA offered some incredibly valuable, hands-on, and straightforward tools to help me think about modeling a business for success. I received tremendous value, from pitch practice to understanding the lifetime value of a customer. I highly recommend IDEA to anyone in the Northeastern network who wants to launch a venture.
