Haxhi is Head of the International Management Track and Tenured Assistant Professor of Strategy and Corporate Governance at the University of Amsterdam. His research interest is at the intersection of international business, corporate governance, and comparative institutional analysis. The main emphasis of his work is the exploration of the interactions and complementarities between institutional and corporate actors, and the way they affect the diffusion and adoption patterns of institutionalized best practices, especially in the context of corporate governance. His main overall goal is to contribute to broader theories used in management disciplines, such as institutional theory and agency theory, and to cross-national cultural and institutional approaches, through their application in the developed and emerging markets contexts.
