This week, six alumni of the combined degree program Master of Science in Accounting/Master in Business Administration are taking over our Instagram account to share their experience post-graduation. Follow along!

“The accounting corporate residency enabled me to build the self-confidence necessary to excel at work and also gave me the opportunity to develop strong relationships within the company that will help me begin my full-time career on the right foot,” says Victoria Sponsel, MS in Accounting/MBA'18

“The MS in Accounting/MBA program provides numerous opportunities for exposure to top accounting firms that can lead to potential employment opportunities following graduation,” says Nayyar.

We talked with Jean Burgess, MSA/MBA'99, who is the VP of Tax for Brookfield Renewal Energy Group, an owner and operator of one of the world's largest renewable power portfolios. She reflects on how her experiences at D'Amore-McKim transformed her life and why tax accountants need to be on their toes after the election.

“The whole experience is very rewarding and the program has a great track record of setting its graduates up for success,” says Hammerly. “You can't beat the industry connections and the internship placement process!”

“The way the MSA/MBA program is structured allows someone without any accounting experience to gain the skills needed to launch a career in professional accounting,” says Sundquist. “However, it goes beyond that and combines it with additional business courses to ensure each student gets a well-rounded education.”

“The MS in Accounting/MBA program is time tested and provides graduates with all of the tools, knowledge, and experience necessary to become a successful CPA, quickly,” says Burgess.

A controller at the Raptor Group, Quirk says, “The MSA prepares you with expertise in accounting, and the MBA gives you a strong business background.”

“The program really prepares you for public accounting by learning to work with different personalities successfully and working towards deadlines. Having spent 8 years in public accounting before my current position, these skills were invaluable,” Pilcher says.
