The Center for Emerging Markets is supported by a generous gift from Venkat and Pratima Srinivasan that allows Northeastern University students to pursue innovative projects that addresses pressing problems in emerging markets. This fall, CEM awarded seven grants to students to pursue projects around the world.

“I see myself as a strategist, a creative, and a storyteller, so branding and marketing were the perfect fit. The MBA program offers me the flexibility I need to pursue my interests while working full-time and launching a business. After realizing there wasn't a student org combining entrepreneurship and sustainability, Izabella Pivo, DMSB'25, and Rohan Surana, DMSB'25 brought the Hult Prize competition to Northeastern. The program asks students to pitch startup ideas around a sustainable development goal, this year's theme was sustainable fashion. 

“When I saw that this 15-month program included a corporate residency where I could work in a leading accounting firm for three months and build my skills, I was sold.” says Brennan McIntyre, MS in Accounting/MBA'23

The Center for Emerging Markets sponsored two Northeastern University students, Brecker Ferguson and Radhika Barot, to attend the 2023 World Trade Organization Public Forum in Geneva, Switzerland, in September 2023. Both students reflected on their experiences and shared insights into the role of emerging markets in global trade.
