Raj Echambadi will serve as the inaugural Dunton Family Dean of the D'Amore-McKim School of Business starting August 14, 2017, Northeastern University announced today.

“It is an amazing honor to have the opportunity to lead the D'Amore-McKim School of Business,” Echambadi told News@Northeastern. “It is going to be a fun and exciting ride to put DMSB in the pantheon of elite business schools.”

Echambadi comes to Northeastern from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he established himself as a leader in business education innovation and a savvy broker of strategic partnerships. As senior associate dean of strategic innovation and the Alan J. and Joyce D. Baltz Endowed Professor in the College of Business, Echambadi provided faculty leadership on Illinois' suite of MBA programs and established the nation's first MOOC-based online MBA program. Dubbed the iMBA, it has earned praise from the influential Poets & Quants website as one of the “10 most innovative business school ideas of 2015.”

The Dunton Family Deanship is a gift from Gary Dunton, DMSB'78, and his wife Lea Anne. It is the first endowed deanship at Northeastern University.
