The Academy of Management (AOM), the world's leading organization for management and organization scholars, hosted its 2025 annual conference this week in Copenhagen, where it celebrated top research and contributions across its six journals and more than two dozen divisions. Several D'Amore-McKim faculty earned recognition for their outstanding scholarship and service to the field.

Mark Huselid, Distinguished Professor of Workforce Analytics, receives the 2025 Dave Ulrich Impact Award from the AOM's Human Resources Division—one of the highest honors for researchers whose work bridges academic insight and business practice.

“This recognition carries exceptional meaning because it bears Dave Ulrich's name,” says Huselid. “Dave's influence on my professional journey—and life—has been profound.” Huselid reflects on his early mentorship from Ulrich and emphasizes his own belief that “HR, done well, creates strategic value—not only for organizations but also for individuals and society.”

Other award-winning members of the D'Amore-McKim community included:

  • Sangah Bae received the Best Reviewer Award from the Organizational Behavior division.
  • Luis Alfonso Dau, Associate Professor of International Business and Faculty Fellow at the Center for Emerging Markets, receives the Best Paper in Multidisciplinary Research from the International Management Division.
  • Zhenyu Liao, the Joseph G. Riesman Research Professor and the Thomas E. Moore Faculty Fellow, receives the Phillips and Nadkarni Award for Best Paper on Diversity and Cognition from the Managerial and Organizational Cognition Division.

“The awards and recognition for our faculty are a testament to the quality and rigor of the work we undertake here at D'Amore-McKim. The best reviewer award also highlights the commitment of our colleagues to the peer-review process, which is about helping colleagues in the field with their scholarship,” says D'Amore-McKim Management and Organizational Development Professor and Group Chair Jayanth Narayanan.
