D'Amore-McKim undergraduate students won two top prizes at the 2026 “Making Your Consulting Case” (MYCC) Competition, hosted by the Western Casewriters Association and the Journal of Case Research and Inquiry.
Lucas Salzgeber, DMSB'29, took first place in the undergraduate division of the MYCC Competition for his case “AI, Space, and Strategy.” Sabrina Leidesdorf, DMSB'28, Alvan Mahin, DMSB'29, and Varunika Maheshwaran, DMSB'29, won the National Case Pitch Competition for “X-Ceramics Group, Bangladesh: An Introduction from the Emerging Markets.”
Unlike traditional case competitions, here students built their submissions from scratch. They identified a company, conducted original interviews and research, and developed a full consulting case. Work underwent multiple blind reviews before finalists presented live to a panel of judges.
The competition is part of the BE=E-D-G-E Method for Employability Investments, a framework developed by Julia Ivy that helps students turn coursework into portfolio pieces, client references and employer-ready presentations.
