Classroom & Faculty Support

Computer Operations & IT Management Support

Our IT professionals manage all aspects of the technology used by faculty and staff for instructional, research and administrative purposes. We provide support for shared mailboxes, departmental network shares and business tools; along with support for D’Amore-McKim in the university’s on-campus data center. We’ll post your informational notice on the Dodge Hall digital display, too.

Classroom Support

The DMSB Computer Operations staff will provide support in only Dodge Hall and Hayden Hall classrooms. This classroom support will be available from 7am-5pm on Monday through Friday by calling x6180. For classroom support outside these hours (nights and weekends), please call x4357 for Northeastern ITS Classroom Technology Support. In the event of an issue in a Northeastern University classroom outside of Dodge Hall or Hayden Hall, please call the ITS Help Desk at x4357 from the telephone in the classroom and press 1 for immediate support.

Event Support

Requests for event technical support and/or equipment setup should be made by submitting a Conference and Event Support request through the ServiceNow portal using your NEU credentials or by contacting the ITS Service Desk at 617.373.4357 (xHELP). If ITS is not able to support the event, an external vendor can be hired. DMSB Computer Operations has previously used Immediate Connections in Somerville (617) 242-2555, mail@immediateconnections.com. It is recommended to make these requests as early as possible so the technical support staff can be assigned by either ITS or an outside vendor. It is also recommended that faculty and staff utilize Northeastern ITS whenever possible since the their special event team is familiar with the technology in all of the rooms where events are held on campus. The DMSB Computer Operations staff will continue to support events sponsored by the Dunton Family Dean Raj Echambadi during regular business hours.

Desktop/Printer/Network Support

D’Amore-McKim IT professionals also manage the purchasing and installation of all computers and network/local printers in the college. We also provide technical support for all of the college’s hardware. Contact Anthony Grimaldi with questions.

D’Amore-McKim Instructional Design Group

We offer a range of resources and support for the development of digital components related to coursework, teaching and technology. The design team offers individual meetings to address questions and concerns, group training sessions and customized special projects, among other requests. Although we do not design and build personal websites for faculty, we will point you in the right direction. One of the cheapest and easiest routes: request a WordPress account with customizable Northeastern themes installed from Northeastern’s ITS.

Branding Guidelines

With any digital project, it’s vital to protect the integrity of the university’s brand. Northeastern’s Office of Marketing and Communications has created a Branding Guidelines website full of resources and important branding policies to help maintain editorial consistency and visual coherence across our digital domain. There you’ll find: editorial resources, including an assortment of focused messaging statements; logos, letterheads, and other print-related support; website guidelines, fonts, digital advertising support, and social media tips; video-related imagery, photos, and consent forms; and a host of additional support, from vendor lists to training.
