Andre du Plessis

Andre du Plessis is the co-founder of Capitec, South Africa's largest digital bank. In 2002, he was appointed chief financial officer of Capitec after being the financial manager since 2000. He recently retired from Capitec after 22 years of building what he hopes will become the best bank in the world.

Prior to founding Capitec, Andre served as the chief executive of financial management at Boland PKS. Before that he was a partner at Arthur Andersen for 10 years. 

He has a B.Com degree and is a qualified CA(SA) with expertise in the areas of business advisory, financial consulting, and strategic and financial management.

In 2019, he was nominated for the 2019 CFO Awards and walked away with the Finance & Technology Award and the Compliance & Governance Award.
